Where Were Tremors Felt?

including Delhi, Noida, Gurugram, Ghaziabad, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and
parts of Jammu & Kashmir. Residents in high-rise buildings felt stronger
shaking.
Magnitude and Epicenter
According to initial reports, the
earthquake measured around 5.9 magnitude on the Richter scale. The epicenter
was located in the Hindu Kush region of Afghanistan, which is a highly active
seismic zone.
Why Was It Felt in India?
Even though the epicenter was far from
India, the depth and intensity of the earthquake allowed the tremors to travel
long distances. Delhi-NCR falls under Seismic Zone IV, which makes it sensitive
to such seismic activities.
